Obituary

Albert Culbreath began his journey August 31, 1953, in Mason, Tennessee, born to Emmitt and Rose E. Barbee Culbreath.

On September 23, 2025, Albert departed this life unexpectedly, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love.

Being a native of Tennessee, Albert found joy in life's simple pleasures—walking to and from Mason to play basketball and baseball, moments he fondly remembered as "safe and happy times." His love for fishing, hunting, and quiet walks reflected a deep appreciation for nature and solitude.

Albert was educated in the Tipton County School District. After graduation, he moved to Elkhart, Indiana, where he worked as a factory laborer. His strong work ethic earned him the nickname "workaholic," a testament to his unwavering commitment to providing for his family.

He was a devoted father to six children: Tina Hines, the late Alex Jones, Shonda Jones, Lori McGuire, and Faith Avalos—all of Elkhart, Indiana—and Shannon (Robert) Yoder of Goshen, Indiana. Albert's vibrant spirit and infectious humor made him the "life of the party," even during times of illness. His resilience and ability to uplift others were hallmarks of his character.

After many years in Indiana, Albert returned to his hometown of Mason, Tennessee, where he served the Tipton County Board of Education as a custodian in the Munford School District for over 20 years. His dedication and warm presence left a lasting impression on the school community.

Albert's legacy continues to live on through his family and loved ones. In addition to his children, Albert is survived by his brother, Lawrence (Viorene) Culbreath of Memphis, Tennessee; 27 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one child, and two brothers, Lewis Culbreath and Lee Andrew Culbreath.

His life was a testament to perseverance, joy, and unconditional love.
