Obituary

Arlain Hopson Smith 74, departed this life on July 18, 2024.  Visitation will take place Friday August 2, 2024, from 1-5 at Palmer Funeral Home in Mason, TN.  Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday August 03,2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Douglas Chapel CME Church with the burial following at Douglas Chapel Cemetery both in Stanton, TN.
It was Thursday, November 20, 1949, that J.B. Mask and Nola Bell Hopson welcomed their daughter into this world in Stanton, TN. At an early age, Arlain's Christian journey began as she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and Lord at Douglas Chapel CME Church where she remained a faithful servant throughout her life.  She received her education from the Haywood County School District where she was a 1967 graduate of Carver High School.
Arlain was united in holy matrimony to Edward Lee Smith for over 40 years. During her lifetime, she was employed with Plastic Container Corporation where she retired in 2015. She was known as "Lain" by family and friends.  Her departure has left a void in our lives that can never be filled.
Arlain Hopson Smith leaves to celebrate her life 1 stepson Anthony White of Brownsville, TN; 5 siblings Betty Jean (Sam)Brooks of Stanton, TN; Willette Mask and Walter B. Mask both of Memphis, TN; Regena Smith of Merriville, IN and Alice(Paul) Larkin of St. Louis, MO; 1 additional sister-n-law, Opal Haye; 2 brothers-n-law Mitchell Greer and Thomas Greer both of Brownsville, TN; 2 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death includes her parents and husband: Annie Sue Miller -A- Special Mom; sisters - Edna Churn, Kate Peterson, Cozette Price, Annie Rachel Miller, Amy Bell Miller, Margaret Mask, and Cynthia Mask Cobb
