On the 19th day of January 2024, Barbara Jean Ray Rudd made her departure at Baptist Hospital Tipton at 12:19 a.m. She will be truly missed by: her children, Bill L. Williams, Jr., of Mason, TN, and Mishon Beachum  and Michael Beachum, both of Cleveland, OH; a bonus "daughter," Ida Dabny of Memphis, TN; ten step children, James Rudd, Jr., Florence (Earvin) Jones, Tammy Smith, Janice Rudd, Marquita (Jonah) Cox, Wilma Smith, Velma Cooper, Connie (Derick) Jones, James Rudd, and Miranda Baker; eleven siblings, Audrey Clark of Woodridge, VA, Michael Dillard, Theopolis Dillard, Franklic "Spanky" Catlett, Renita Catlett, and Michelle Catlett, all of Hopkinsville, KY, Kathy (Sam) Frazier and Rogena (Je ) Harris, both of Mason, TN, Billie J. Boddie of Millington, TN, Gregory A. Powers and Pastor James (Twilla) Powers, both of Mason, TN; two nieces and one nephew that she reared as her own, Victoria Ray Whitting and Shanda Ray, and Darrell (Barbara) Boddie; two sisters-in-law, Fannie Rudd and Ruby Rudd; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and a host of step grandchildren, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by Theopolis (Vernice Smith) Powers, who reared her as their own,  her husband, James Rudd, and seven siblings, Denita Guillemet, Robert L. Ray, Jr., Michael Kevin Powers, James A. Dillard, Gloria J. Boddie, and Cli ord  "Tony" Catlett, along with 2-sets of triplets.

There will be a honorary walk-through memorial on Friday February 2, 2024 from 1-3pm at Palmer Funeral Home in Mason, TN.  Celebrating "Fly Girl" will be held Sunday, February 4, 2024 at 11:00 at Club Now located at 391 Hwy 70 Mason, TN.
