Obituary

Brenda Brown of Covington, Tennessee, was born to the union of Jessie "Sr" and Louise “Doll” Alston Brown on June12, 1960. Being reared in a household of faith, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and Lord at Shiloh Christian Methodist Episcopal Church where she was baptized. She received her education from the Tipton County School District where she was a 1978 graduate of Covington High School.

Brenda attended the University of Phoenix where she earned a Bachelor's degree in business. After some time, she made Houston, Texas, her home and Bissonnet Baptist Church her place of worship under the leadership of Pastor Marc A. Flowers. She was a faithful servant for over 30 years. Some of the Ministries that she was a part of includes: organizer of the breast cancer awareness month, Vice president of the Women’s Ministry, Leader of the Women’s Circle of Prayer, lead organizer of the Thanksgiving Food Drive and the Christmas Toy Drive for the Mission of Yahweh, a shelter for women and children who were affected by domestic violence. Brenda’s heart to serve was second to none.

Professionally, Brenda was the manager of Texas EZpawn in Texas, where she resided for more than thirty years.

On the twentieth day of May 2026, the final chapter of Brenda Brown Wells life was written. She leaves to celebrate her life, love and spirit one son, Nicholas Emanuel Wells of Houston, Texas; one brother, Rickey Brown (Edna Pearl) of Burke, Virginia; one grandson, Omari Kendrick Wells of Baltimore, MD and one great grandson; two aunts, Mae Ethel Sanders of Covington, Tennessee, and Clara Ferguson of Memphis, Tennessee; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Including her parents, preceding Brenda in death are five siblings, Jessie (Annette of Covington, Tennessee) Brown, Jr., Michael Brown, Danny Brown, Prophetess Barbara Brown-Coleman and Minister Steve (Sylvia of Covington, TN) Brown; and three deceased uncles, Billy (Dorothy) Boyce, Robert Boyce, and James (Dovie of Covington, Tennesee) Boyce.
