Charles life began in Covington, TN to Farnsworth Sanders and Willie Mae Somerville on September 20, 1944. He accepted Christ as his personal  Savior and Lord and was baptized at St. Luke  Missionary Baptist Church in Covington, TN under the leadership of the late Pastor LR Donaldson. His Christian  journey continued at Cedar Grove MB Church in Mason, TN and concluded at Laughter MB Church in Covington, TN.

In the 60's, "Charlie" located to Milwaukee Wisconsin.  While residing in Milwaukee, he was employed with Briggs &  Stratton in Greenfield, Wisconsin as an operator for over 20 years. In the 1990's, he returned to his humble beginnings in Covington, TN. His labor of love was also one of his favorite pastimes as Charlie was a culinary specialist and Grill Master for Gilt Edge Cafe where he enjoy preparing some of his "famous dishes".  In his time of leisure, you would find "Charlie" playing games…with  spade or coon cane being two of his favorites.

The fond memories of love and laughter will remain in the lives of those he leaves behind:
8 children-Linda Boyce, Evelyn Hall, Herman (Carol  "Cammy") Sanders, Cheryl Sanders (Smith) Ballard, Ronald (Crystal) Sanders, Danny (Synthia) Anderson , Charles Sanders, Jr.,  Chaquann Sanders and a "son" that he considered his own - Rickey (Tawanda) Anderson;  4 siblings- Carnell (Vanessa ) Sanders, James (Cheryl) Sanders, Francene Sanders- Borkowski and Maxine Sanders (Bobby) Lane; 19 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, preceding  Charles in death is one daughter Teresa Johnson and 3 siblings- Esther Lee Somerville, Lue Voine Maxwell and Arthur Tipton.
