United States Veteran CJ Whitley, the son of the late Charlie Gray Whitley and Arthor Mae Warford Whitley, departed this life on June 17, 2024 at his residence. Visitation will take place Friday June 21, 2024 from 1-7. The family will receive friends from 5-7 at Palmer Funeral Home in Mason, TN.
Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday June 22, 2024 12 o'clock noon at Greater Fredonia Baptist Church Mason, TN. Viewing will take place prior to the service on Saturday from 11:00-11:55 a.m.
CJ was known as "Wolf" by family and friends. He was loved by many and never met a stranger. His education was acquired from the Tipton County School District where he received his primary education from Gailor Elementary School in Mason, TN and concluded at Frazier High School in Covington, TN. CJ was best-known as an entrepreneur, a "jokester" and a "jack of all trades".
The beloved CJ Whitley leaves to celebrate his memories 5 children : Robert Szkuta, Kamilah Whitley, Jose (LaShundra) Whitley, LaSonya (Darryl) Bandy and Jaylan Lee Whitley; Seven siblings- Mary Hodge, Arthur Lee Hall, Saul (Vicky) Whitley, Pastor Robert (Carol) Whitley, Paul Whitley, Gloria Whitley and Anthony (Sharifa) Clark; 4 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, preceding CJ in death are 5 siblings: Willie Frank Whitley, Rosed Maclin, Charlene Shipes, Clarence Whitley and Pauline Richardson.
