David Andrea
Benson
Oct 14, 1969 — Jan 12, 2026
David Andrea Benson was born October 14, 1969, Covington, Tennessee, born to James Otis and Jerline Williams Benson. While in his youth, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior at a young age and united with Wray's Chapel Church, where he was baptized. His love for music and his gentle, compassionate spirit later guided him to Cedar Grove M.B. Church, where he served faithfully as a musician for forty years.
David received his early education in the Fayette County School District and was a graduate from Fayette Ware High School. Motivated by a desire to grow, he continued his studies at Lane College in Jackson, Tennessee, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management. His pursuit of excellence led him further to the University of Memphis, where he completed a Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering.
His academic achievements were matched by a strong and steady professional journey. David worked with Kellogg's, Carrier, and EPE USA in Horn Lake, Mississippi, before ultimately serving as plant manager at Palmdale Oil and Gas in Orlando, Florida. Everywhere he went, David was known for his dedication, his humor, and the genuine kindness that made a lasting impression on colleagues and friends alike.
He never sought attention, yet his presence naturally brought warmth and ease to any space he entered. Whether at church or simply out and about, he carried himself with quiet confidence—always polished, always leaving a "lasting impression." He found joy in traveling and exploring his love for cars, embracing the simple pleasures that reflected his thoughtful and steady nature.
On January 12, 2026, David A. Benson answered his call, surrounded by those who cherished him most. He leaves behind a legacy defined by faith, kindness, and unwavering devotion. His memory will be lovingly carried by his mother, Jerline (Lester) Davis; his four children, Brittany Bush, Harmony Benson, Melody Benson, and Taylor Landsford; and his treasured grandchildren, Harlee Reed, Ruby Maddox, and Ja'Lagracie Hudson. He is also remembered with love by his sister, Renae (Reginald) Boyce; his nephews, Reginald Boyce Jr. and Daniel Boyce; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who will forever hold his memory close.
