Obituary

DeMarius "Mario" Antwone Murphy was born on March 11, 1985, and peacefully transitioned from this life surrounded by the love of his family and dear friends.

Known by many nicknames—"Yo," "Yola," "Snoop Dog," "Yo Dog," "Yoyo," and "Rooster"—Mario carried an unforgettable presence. Each name reflected the joy he brought, the connections he formed, and the many lives he touched along his journey.

At an early age, "Mario" accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Mason, Tennessee. His faith remained a quiet strength throughout his life, guiding him with a steady and humble light.

He found joy in life's simple pleasures—keeping his cars spotless, watching movies, and spending time with the people he loved most. He had a deep affection for his dogs and took great pride in the life he built around his family. Among the many relationships he cherished, he shared a special and meaningful bond with his grandmother, Loriece Murphy of Mason, Tennessee, who held a treasured place in his heart.

Above all, Mario loved being a father. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved daughters: Za'Myrah, Kalaya, Nova, and Mia Murphy. He is also survived by the love of his life, Catey Sutphin of Atoka, Tennessee; his parents, Brenda and Chester Stanback of Mason, Tennessee; his siblings, Briana Murphy of Mason, Tennessee, Chelsea Murphy of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, DeAngelo Johnson of Covington, Tennessee, and Keelan Stanback of Mason, Tennessee; his grandmother, Loriece Murphy of Mason, Tennessee; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives, extended family, and friends who will forever hold his memory close.

Mario's love, laughter, and light will remain with us always.
