Mr. Edgar O'Neal Whitmore was born July 22, 1961, to the union of Albert Whitmore Sr. and the late ClariceWilkerson Whitmore, in Mason, TN. He departed this life on May 28, 2024.

Edgar made a commitment to Christ at an early age at the Cedar Grove M. B. Church in Mason,
TN, under the leadership of the late Reverend Oddie Breckenridge. Edgar later joined Fullview
Baptist Church in Bartlett, TN, where he once served with the Usher Ministry.

He receive his education from the Fayette County School District where he was a 1979 graduate of
Fayette Ware High School. Edgar continued his education at Lane College in Jackson, TN, earning a B. A. Degree in Elementary Education in 1983. In 2007, he earned a Master of Education Degree from Strayer University in Memphis, TN.
Edgar was a retired educator of 32 years. During his education career, Edgar served as Director of Adult Education with the Fayette County Schools. Under his leadership, the number of African Americans in Fayette County earning a GED made history.
Our beloved Edgar O'Neal Whitmore leaves to cherish his memory: his father, Albert Whitmore, Sr.;two brothers, Lavant Whitmore (Frankie) and Albert Whitmore, Jr. (Judith); three nephews, Ontarion Woodland of Arlington, TN, Travis Whitmore of Lakeland, TN, and Jeremy Whitmore of Atlanta, GA; 4 great nephews, 2 great nieces, aunts, uncles, and a host of other relatives, church family and friends.
