Emma Lee Lax was born February 6, 1950 to Sam and Ruby Dean Phillips in Somerville, TN. Being reared in a God-fearing home, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and Lord and it was confirmed through baptism at Shiloh CME Church.

She received her education from the Fayette County School District where she was a 1968 graduate.

One of  Emma's greatest joys was being the mother to Vickie Lax (Ricky) Thorne of Baltimore, MD, Bryson Lax of Atlanta, GA and the late Sandra Lax and the grandmother to one grand child,  Alicia Grandberry of Mason, TN and 1 great grand child, Alaina Benson. She did not take her role lightly as a mother who loved unconditionally. Not only was she a phenomenal mother to her own children, she was like the "neighborhood" mother whose caring and nurturing spirit spread beyond her own household.

In addition to her children and 2 generations of grandchildren, Emma leaves  a sister- Sama Phillips of Memphis, TN; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

Myonne Company(Panty Factory) is where Emma was a faithful employee for many years as well as an Avon Representative.  She made and impact "on the job, in her home, church and community" and to know Emma was indeed to love her. Her personality, life and laughter was infectious.

In her time of leisure, you would find Emma at the Senior Citizens Center in Covington, TN  playing cards, Bingo or just simply being the "life of the room".

On the 27th day of June 2025, our beloved Emma Lee Lax, surrendered to her call at St. Francis Hospital  in Bartlett, TN at the hour of 12 Noon.
