Eva Nell Lewis Douglas was born on November 15, 1948, to James Theodore Lewis and Ruth O'Kelly Lewis in Braden, TN.

While in her youth, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and Lord at Mt. Sinai MB Church and later joined Greater Poplar Spring where she was a faithful servant.

Eva's love story with her late husband, Eddie L. Douglas, was one of true partnership and devotion. They were inseparable until his passing in 2018. Her commitment to her family was evident in the way she nurtured and supported those around her always offering wisdom, encouragement, and unconditional love.  Her warmth extended beyond her faith. In addition to being a member of the Eastern Star, she was also a talented cook, skilled florist, and "fashionista". Her home was a haven filled with love, laughter, music, and the aromas of her culinary creations.

On January 25, 2025, God welcomed Eva Nell Lewis Douglas to her heavenly home. Awaiting her arrival are her husband, parents, and two siblings Pastor Theodore Lewis and Janet Teamer.

Her  legacy will continue with the loved ones she leaves behind:  her three daughters: Carla Yvette Douglas, Ednita Shantay (Kwesi) Duncan  , and Catora Darnisha Douglas; her grandchildren: Quadarious Jones, Gabriel Jones Jr., Aniyah Pulliam, Noah Duncan, Jude Duncan, and Carter Terry; her siblings: Izola (Clarence "Sunny Pie") Whitmore, Robert Joe Lewis, Sennett Strong, and Denise (Kit) Walk; sister-in-law: Tempie Lewis; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and countless friends who were touched by her kindness and generosity.
