John "Onion" Johnson, III, 73 son of the late John Johnson, Jr., and Lillie Mae Beckom Johnson departed this life October 15, 2024 at his residence in Memphis, TN.

He formerly attended Mt. Sinai MB Church and received his education from the Fayette County School District.  During his lifetime, John was a member of the Motorcycle Club.  Although he was known for being "straight forward and honorary",  John had a good heart and would lend a hand to those in need.

Survivors include a friend, Sandra S. Kendrick of Memphis, TN; eight children- Steven Caruthers, Cedric Johnson, Carlos Johnson, John  Kendrick, LaCandra Kendrick, Theotis Kendrick, Ashley Kendrick, and Kasandra Kendrick all of Memphis, TN; seven siblings- Susie (Eddie Dean) Maclin and Jackie (Elvis) Maclin both of Covington, TN; Norma (Hurley) Maclin and Darlene (the late Clifford) Davis both of Mason, TN; Mary Hall of Florida; Nathaniel Johnson of Cailfornia and Jimmie Beckom of Memphis, TN; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, three siblings Katherine Taylor, Joe Johnson and Alphonzo Drake preceded him in death.
