Johnny Melvin Brown born January 9, 1935, in Mason, Tennessee. He was the son of Eugene and Hazel Harvey Brown. Raised in a faith-filled home, he accepted Christ and was baptized at Williamson Chapel MB Church, where he remained a lifelong member.
Johnny married Willie B. Douglas, the love of his life, and together they built a devoted and loving family. He worked as an asphalt technician until retirement and was known for his gentle strength, warm heart, and sharp wit. He loved hunting, fishing, and being surrounded by family and friends.
On September 8, 2025, at 9:51 a.m., Johnny Melvin Brown departed this life. He leaves behind a legacy of love and strength through
his children, Mary (Chester) Davis, Melvin (Mary) Brown, Hazel Brown, Dorothy Brown Johnson, Floyd (Carolyn) Oliver, Wanda
(Lawrence) Dowell, Jack Oliver, Eugene Brown, Juanita (Willie Earl) Taylor, Shirley Dowell, and Jessie Brown; a grandson he raised
as his own, Reco Brown; 34 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren, and 24 great-great-grandchildren; step-sister, Ernestine Hayes and step-brother, Clifton Smith; God children: Sam Frazier and Carl Wallace. along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and
dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Willie B. Douglas Brown; two children, Hubert Douglas and Earle Fields;
and sister, Julia Mae Jefferson.
