Obituary

Without warning and with no chance to say goodbye, our beloved Joyce Marie Williams Holton peacefully departed this life on June 18, 2025, at her residence.

Born on July 18, 1964, in Somerville, Tennessee, she was the cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Penolia Cleaves Williams.

At a young age, Joyce gave her life to Christ at Union Hill Baptist Church in Gallaway, TN.

Affectionately known as "WeeWee," she graduated from Fayette Ware High School in 1983 and received her education through the Fayette County School District. Throughout her life, Joyce held several roles in the food service industry, including with Burger King and Pizza Hut.

Joyce's radiant spirit left an impression wherever she went. She was the life of every gathering—quick to laugh, dance, play cards, or simply brighten a room with her presence. Her laughter was infectious, and her soul, uplifting. Though she never claimed perfection, Joyce lived authentically—with grace, unwavering love, and a resilient heart that met life's challenges with quiet strength.

Joyce was a devoted mother to four children: Shanola Williams of Cordova, TN; Frederick (Albany) Boyle of Stanton, TN; Marcus Williams of Memphis, TN; and the late Eddie Williams. She was a beloved sister to Carolyn Jean Williams of Olive Branch, MS; Barbara Joe (Tony) Becton of Arlington, TN; James Earl (Phillis) Williams, Chester D. (Angie) Williams, and Thomas Earl (the late Wanda) Williams —all of Somerville, TN. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Raymond Cleaves and Rickey Williams.

Her legacy shines brightly through her 13 adored grandchildren—Jayden Fuqua, Jamauric Prewitt, Eryn Harris, Devion Williams, Madison Reeds, Marcus Williams Jr., Kensle McCraken, Trenton Boyle, Trevell Boyle, Kamari Boyle, Kiliyah Boyle, Emmanuel Williams, and Kayden Cooper—and her 9 beloved nieces and nephews. Joyce's love extended beyond bloodlines, embracing extended family and dear friends with open arms.

We will forever carry the joy, laughter, and light she brought into our lives. Her spirit remains alive in every heart she touched.
