King Malaki
Thompson
Oct 29, 2012 — Apr 24, 2025
Our beloved King Malaki Thompson departed this life on April 24, 2025, at 3:56 p.m. at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis, TN.
King was born in Covington, TN, to Donna Thompson and Devontez Hurdle. He was blessed to share his life with five siblings: Chloe, Ryan, Lillie, and Ryliee Thompson, as well as Jayceon Dailey.
From an early age, King was Christened at Canaan Grove Baptist Church in Mason, TN. He began his education at Egypt Elementary School and later transitioned to homeschooling. Despite facing significant health challenges, King demonstrated remarkable resilience and refused to let those challenges define him.
King's leisure activities reflected his vibrant personality—he loved playing games like Roblox, sketching, sharing clever "dad jokes," and exuding his irresistible charm. His loving and caring nature touched everyone around him, and his admiration for Sonic characters was a hallmark of his passions.
King leaves behind his parents, siblings, and grandparents: Stephanie (James) Young and Jerry Hurdle of Covington, TN; Angela Thompson of Indianapolis, Indiana; and Oscar "Horshack" Hodge of Mason, TN. He is also survived by his great-grandparents, Mae Thompson of Indianapolis, IN, and Aurthur L. Jackson of Mason, TN; his "bonus father" Ryan Bostick of Henning, TN, along with a host of aunts, uncles, relatives, and friends who will cherish his memory forever.
