Lee Anthony Taylor was the ninth of ten children born to the union of the late Russell L. and Laura Mae Matthews Taylor. His earthly journey began on May 10, 1965, and came to a peaceful close on September 18, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis, Tennessee.

At an early age, Lee accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and Lord and became a member of Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Mason, Tennessee. Lee received his education through the Tipton County School District and was a 1983 graduate of Covington High School.

Professionally, Lee began his career at BOZO’s BBQ in Mason, Tennessee. He later joined West Tennessee Corrections in Mason, where he served as a security officer. Throughout the years, Lee continued working for various businesses until declining health brought his professional journey to a close.

Lee was referred to as a “gentle giant.” He was a loving, kind-hearted, and comical person who had a way of bringing laughter and warmth into the lives of those around him. His personality, sense of humor, and genuine love for family and friends created memories that will be cherished forever.

To celebrate his life and profound memories, the beloved Lee Anthony Taylor leaves to cherish his memory six siblings: Minister Daniel Taylor; Pauline (Minister Robert) Jones; Patria (Arthur, Sr.) Burrell, all of Mason, Tennessee; Robert (Margaret) Taylor of Oakland, Tennessee; Teresa Morgan of Brighton, Tennessee; and Brenda Pope of Memphis, Tennessee. He also leaves two additional brothers-in-law, Eric Douglas and Walter “Gus” Maclin; two aunts; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Russell L. and Laura Mae Matthews Taylor; three siblings, Marvel Maclin, Russell L. Taylor, Jr., and Marilyn Douglas; and one nephew, Michael Matthews.
