Obituary

The life journey of Lester Calvin Dickson began in Covington, Tennessee, born to the loving union of Thurman Y. Dickson, Sr. and Eula Mae Wakefield Dickson. Reared in a God fearing home, Lester accepted Christ as his personal Savior and Lord, a commitment later affirmed through baptism at Canaan Missionary Baptist Church in Covington, TN. Lester was educated in the Tipton County School District and proudly graduated from Covington High School in 1986. Determined to become the best version of himself, he continued his academic pursuits at Middle Tennessee State University, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree and his MBA in Business Accounting. Professionally, Lester served with dedication and integrity as an Officer Comptroller for the United States Treasury. Outside of work, he embraced life with enthusiasm.

Whether traveling, reading, indulging in a major shopping spree, or singing—confidently believing he had true vocal talent—Lester found joy in the simple and spirited moments. He also cherished time spent with a good novel, as one of his favorite pastimes.

Though he had no children of his own, Lester embodied the very essence of a devoted family man. He was the heartbeat of every gathering, the "life of any celebration," and his warm, genuine spirit left an imprint on all who knew him.

Without warning or a final farewell, Lester C. Dickson peacefully departed this life on January 21, 2026, at his residence. He leaves to cherish his memory his siblings: Kim (the late Michael) Bernard of Brighton, TN; Ann (Clark) Kent of Covington, TN; Pearl Dickson (Rickey Brown) of Burke, Virginia; Thurman Dickson, Jr. of Covington, TN; Pastor Gerald Dickson of Newark, NJ; Zina Dickson of Memphis, TN; Tammy (James) Williams of Covington, TN; Dennis Dickson of Mississippi; Christi Dickson of Covington, TN; and LaJeana Dickson of Cleveland, OH.

He was the beloved nephew of Paul (Cordelia) Wakefield of Nashville, TN, and Lois Hall of Brownsville, TN. Lester was also a cherished uncle to a host of nieces and nephews, and a dear cousin and friend to many.

Lester's life, love, and radiant spirit were truly contagious. All who were blessed to share in his journey will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
