Obituary

Logan Boyd, Jr. was born in Stanton, Tennessee, to the loving union of Logan Boyd, Sr. and Delores Harwell Boyd. Raised in a faith‑centered home, he began his spiritual journey early in life, accepting Christ as his personal Savior at Fredonia Baptist Church in Stanton, where he was later baptized.

As an adult, Logan united in fellowship with Salem MB Church in Mason, Tennessee. He received his education through the Haywood County School District and proudly graduated with the Class of 1978.

Affectionately known as "Jr." by some and "Logan Bold" by others, he met the love of his life, Alice Taylor, whom he married on April 20, 1995. Logan cherished his roles as both husband and father, never taking either lightly. Together, he and Alice were blessed with five children:

- Bertha Boyd of Brownsville, TN

- Dennise (Lewis) Hill of Brownsville, TN

- Dallas (Marcus) Clemons of Covington, TN

- Tyrone Boyd of Bells, TN

- Micheal Boyd of Memphis, TN

Many in the community came to know Logan through his warm presence as a Walmart greeter—his smile was truly priceless. Others knew him from his work in the produce department or as a Bus Monitor with the Haywood County Board of Education in Brownsville.

In his leisure time, Logan enjoyed the simple pleasures of life: sipping coffee, relaxing on his porch, and—as friends would lovingly tease—"being nosey." These small moments brought him joy and connected him to the world around him.

On April 8, 2026, Logan's earthly journey came to a peaceful close at his home in Brownsville, Tennessee.

He leaves to cherish his memory three siblings:

- Dennis Wayne (Barbara) Boyd of Brownsville, TN

- Wendell (Sharon) Boyd of Southaven, MS

- Diane Taylor of Memphis, TN

He was also a beloved brother‑in‑law to:

- Linda Barbee of Mason, TN

- Lorine Taylor of Mason, TN

- Viola Taylor of Brownsville, TN

- Willie (Juanita) Taylor of Mason, TN

- Raymond Rurry of Memphis, TN

- Don (Glenda) Taylor of Memphis, TN

- Alanda (Gwen) Taylor of Covington, TN

- James Taylor of Milwaukee, WI

Logan's legacy continues through his 16 grandchildren, 24 great‑grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will forever treasure the moments shared with him.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Amanda Faye Rurry.
