He moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, during his early childhood alongside his mother and older sister, and later graduated from Broad Ripple High School in 1991.

His magnetic personality and generous heart made him unforgettable. Life's hardships never dimmed his light; Maurice met each challenge with courage and an unwavering determination to keep moving forward. To those who knew him, Maurice wasn't just a son, brother, father, or uncle—he was a beacon of love, laughter, and resilience.

Maurice departed this life on July 20, 2025, leaving behind treasured memories, playful texts, and the warmth of countless embraces. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Lil' Maurice Peete, and his brother, Christopher Peete.
