Robert White, Jr., son of the late Robert White, Sr. and Susie B. Maclin White was born on January 6, 1928 in Tipton County near Mason, TN. Robert, also known as "Sonny Boy".

Robert attended Gaylor Industrial School in Tipton County. He was united in holy matrimony to Ella Mayes.  Robert  worked as a carpenter in multiple cities including St. Louis, New Orleans, and Chicago. He later retired from the City of Covington Public Works Department after many years of employment. He  was a member of the Poplar Springs Masonic Lodge #0148.

On March 1, 2024,  Robert White, Jr., peacefully made his departure at his residence in Keeling, TN.

He leaves to cherish his life and memories - three brothers: Clarence (Verlee) Jones and Napoleon Jones, both of Milwaukee, WI and Tommy (Etta) Jones of Jackson, MS; dedicated caregivers: niece Lonnetta (Herbert) Humphrey and great-niece Constance (Derrick) Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, lodge brothers, and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, four siblings: Katherine Claybon, twins- Eddie Mae Jones and Eddie Lee Jones, and Floyd Jones; one brother-in-law: Joseph Jones; one sister-in-law: Emily Ann Jones, and his step-father: Jeff Jones, preceded him in death.
