Obituary

Sandra D. Yearwood was born on October 31, 1955, in Savannah, TN, to Robert A. and Barbara Rogers Yearwood. From the very beginning, her vibrant spirit and infectious laughter made her the heart of every gathering.

Sandra was known as the "life of the party," but even on an ordinary day, she had a way of lighting up the room with joy, humor, and love. Her warmth touched everyone she met.

She later met and married the love of her life, William L. "Bill" Cook. Together, they shared 43 beautiful years of marriage and built a blended family filled with love. Sandra is survived by her son Christopher Layne (Adrienne) Cook of Bartlett, TN; her siblings Carolyn (Rick) Butler of Selmer, TN and Benny (Cindy) Yearwood of Brighton, TN; her cherished granddaughter Aubrey Townsend; and two brothers-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Matthew Lee Hardy, and her sister Shelia Stevens.

Sandra spent part of her professional life working as a Tower Operator at Kellogg's Company. Outside of work, she found joy in painting and expressing her artistic talents. She had a deep love for animals, especially her sheep, whom she cared for with tenderness and devotion.

To know Sandra was to have a friend. Her kindness, laughter, and unwavering love left a lasting impression on all who crossed her path. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

The final chapter of the life of Sandra D. Hardy Cook was written on September 2, 2025 where she surrendered to her call at Methodist University Hospital, Memphis, TN.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
