Theodore R.
Blackwell, Jr.
Sep 1, 1964 — Apr 7, 2026
The life journey of Theodore Roosevelt Blackwell, Jr. began in Chicago, IL born to the union of Theodore R. Blackwell, "Sr." and Dorothy J. Johnson Blackwell.
Known as "Ted" by family and friends, Theodore received his early education through the Tipton County School District and received his High School Diploma from the United States Marine Corp.
Professionally, "Ted" was an entrepreneur at heart. His passion for cars, led him to become a highly skilled, self-employed master mechanic for more than 20 years. During moments of leisure, Theodore found his greatest joy in spending time with his grandchildren, coaching and cheering on his children in their sports, gathering with family around the bonfire, listening to music, dancing and making sure his lawn was well manicured. Ted rarely missed an opportunity to watch a football game. His spirit of love, humor and joy was truly "one for the books".
Without warning or a final farewell, the last chapter of Theodore Roosevelt Blackwell, Jr.'s earthly story was written in Jackson, Michigan.
Theodore is survived by his devoted wife, Brenda Lennox and a large loving family including his daughters:
Sophia (Dillion) Blackwell and Thia (Andy) Hernandez; his sons Brendan Roman Blackwell; Kenny (Cassie) Kulikowski;
Chris (Barbara) Kulikowski; Theodore Ross Bookhart and Damond (Natalie) Jones.
Ted was a brother to eight siblings: James Terry, Jr. of Detroit, MI; Bishop Andrew (Gwen) Terry of Los Angeles, CA; Tommy (Margarett)Terry of Nashville, TN; Jimmy Blackwell of Detroit, MI; Ricky (Lisa) Blackwell of Oklahoma City, Ok; Oddie (Starlet) Blackwell of Detroit, MI; Damon Blackwell of Cleveland, OH and Brad (Melissa) Blackwell of Chicago, IL.
He also leaves grandchildren that he loved and adored beyond measure; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other, relatives and friends who will forever be reminded of Ted's remarkable memories.
